Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed two separate agreements; the first provides for naming the Saudi Aramco Oil Company as a strategic sponsor of the 6th Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF). The second names the British Association for Project Management (APM) as a partner of the Forum, which kicked off on December 7th 2019 under the theme Cultural Diversity. The Forum is co-hosted by DEWA, DP World, Emaar Properties and PMI, and it is the first time Aramco and APM are associated with this thriving global event.

Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Executive Director, Office of the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of DIPMF, signed on behalf of RTA. Fahad Al-Ammari, General Manager, Saudi Aramco Project Management Organisation, signed on behalf of Aramco; and Rebecca Fox, Head of Membership, APM, signed for APM.

Al-Marri was excited over the strategic sponsorship with Aramco as it reflected the strong relationships with the Saudi giant Aramco Company. “Such strategic cooperation ushers a new era with extensive positive bearings on the national, regional and global economies. The significance of this agreement is underlined by the global weight of Aramco, which owns refineries, oil tankers, and research centres spreading across the world as well as a workforce of about 65 thousand employees,” said Al Marri.

“We are equally thrilled with the partnership agreement with the British APM, which will step up the exchange of expertise, knowledge and services across the board. The two agreements underscore the high standing of the DIPMF and its ability to attract such an array of reputed sponsors, partners with massive experience in business and finance. It also bears reference to the global economic maturity of the Forum, especially as Dubai has successfully delivered a raft of mega projects such as Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram, and is all set to host the global showpiece Expo 2020. Such projects are indicative of Dubai’s ability to turn projects management concept into a reality, and the two agreements should pave the way for yet more cooperation in the interest of all parties,” noted Al Marri.

“Holding DIPMF is part of Dubai endeavours to play a leading role in the development of the region on sound scientific grounds and align it with the top global practices. Dubai is also keen to provide a platform for exchanging experience, views and knowledge between key global industry leaders. The Forum has cemented the image of Dubai as a venue for unleashing innovative solutions to project management, thanks to the intense and creative concepts discussed contributing to the successful delivery of megaprojects,” concluded Al Marri.

“We are pleased with the association of Aramco as a strategic sponsor of the current edition of DIPMF. We view the Forum as a global destination for identifying innovative ideas in projects management, especially as our company has a rich global experience in this regard. Our sponsorship stems from the global competence of the Forum and its proven ability to captivate the attention over the past five editions. The agreement we made today boosts the relationships between RTA and Aramco, thus nurtures favourable opportunities for the business and finance sector,” said Al Amari.

“Our agreement with RTA will support DIPMF by applying the experience and services of APM in this regard. Dubai has a whole host of spectacular projects and high ambitions for bringing more successes to the Forum. It is here the APM will be endeavouring to make a significant contribution,” said Fox.
