This service enables you to apply for renewing a driving license.
Reference to the UAE Cabinet Decision (30) of 2017 on traffic and traffic safety services, the fees of driving licenses and vehicles are changed. For more information please visit https://www.rta.ae/links/lic-updates.pdf or contact RTA call centre on the following number: 8009090.
Individual customers, citizens and residents, are eligible to apply for this service
For customer younger than 21 years old
For customers older than 21 years old
Renewed driving license.

Note: The fine for the delay in renewing the driving license for less than 10 years is 10 AED per month, with a maximum of 500 AED. In the case of its expiration for more than 10 years, the customer is only allowed to renew it after passing the evaluation test.

Note: The validity of the temporary license varies between 5 and 15 days.
Answer 1: No, the customer must have a valid ID card.
Answer 2: Yes, the customer can renew the license online after making sure that all the details of the traffic file are updated on the traffic system according to the new residence visa.
Answer 3: As per the policy, only the Emirates ID photo will be used. However, if the said photo was not extracted for a certain reason, the customer can use a photo from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, a picture from the camera or can even scan any other photo.
Answer 4: If the customer applies for the license online with missing information or documents, the office team sends him an SMS to provide the details.

Answer 5: The customer goes to Dubai Police to request an NOC letter so that RTA can open a new traffic file for the customer to be able to take the test again.
Answer 6: No, the customer must visit the concerned authority to add a category or renew the military license.
Answer 7: The customer is sent to Barsha Licensing Centre or Deira Licensing Centre.
