His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar, and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, extended his congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, marking the 16th anniversary of the ascension of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan as Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum as First Deputy Ruler of Dubai. He wished them continued prosperity and success. 

“His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, have inherited leadership attributes and strategic foresight from their father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Such leadership qualities have sharpened their proficiency in handling complex issues and overcoming diverse challenges.

“Since their Highnesses took office, Dubai has experienced a significant transformation in the operations of the Executive Council and a notable advancement in the functions of governmental entities and departments towards realising the emirate's vision and strategic objectives. Their Highnesses closely follow up government activities and guide various departments towards aligning with the emirate's vision and strategic plan. They also oversee progress through field inspections and periodic reports about the performance of government institutions.

“In addition to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's responsibilities as the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Executive Council, he also oversees several government sectoral committees. He also manages numerous strategic projects and initiatives aimed at fostering holistic development in Dubai, such as the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs. These initiatives are focused on securing long-term social, family, and demographic stability, improving the well-being of citizens, and providing developmental opportunities for the youth.

“His Highness also chairs the Higher Committee for Future Technology and Digital Economy, and the Dubai Future Councils, a visionary platform designed to forecast and shape the future of key sectors in Dubai for the next fifty years. Furthermore, he spearheads the Smart City initiative, with the ambitious goal of establishing Dubai as the world's smartest city. In line with this vision, His Highness initiated Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Governmental Services aimed to encourage entities to innovate their operations and migrate to smart government services accessible 24/7. He attaches special attention to developing human resources, considering them as the foundational element in enhancing governmental operations and elevating the standard of services.

“His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has diligent oversight of governmental and economic affairs and coaxed a quantum shift in Dubai's economic development. This is notably evident through his oversight of the Strategic Affairs Council within the Executive Council, and various governmental and economic entities that contribute directly to the advancement of Dubai's position as a premier global hub for finance and business. Furthermore, His Highness has spearheaded initiatives aimed at enhancing Dubai's financial markets and stock exchanges as part of Dubai's strategic vision to list an array of leading government and semi-government companies, to double their combined value to reach AED3 trillion.

“Besides his substantial local responsibilities, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance at the national level. In this capacity, he oversees the formulation and implementation of fiscal and monetary policies for the country's economic progression. Such roles are instrumental in the planning and allocation of the federal budget and in managing the government's financial affairs. Additionally, he chairs the Federal General Budget Committee and the Federal Tax Authority,” commented Al Tayer.
