Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has organised the annual ‘Partners’ Council’ at RTA’s Transportation Research and Innovation Pavilion at the University of Birmingham Dubai. The event drew in 60 participants, including 30 partners of the RTA representing a wide range of economic, business, and service sectors as well as stakeholders contributing to delivering services to wide spectrums of the community.

"This annual gathering of RTA’s partners from public and private entities aims to broaden the communication and cooperation between the RTA and its partners and stress the value of mustering mass efforts to achieve an array of joint initiatives. It also contributes to realising the government’s directives in serving the public interest, besides enhancing RTA’s service offering in a way that adds to the happiness of corporate and individual clients,” said Fatima Al Mandoos, Director of the Innovation and Pioneering, Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, RTA.

“We have reviewed with RTA’s partners several key topics to bolster our joint efforts including: The Strategic Framework and Future of Transportation 2030, which examined RTA’s accomplishments, strategic initiatives aimed to enhance leadership, and future directions. The council also discussed a plan about the Risks, Challenges, and Strategic Opportunities faced by clients when using modern technologies and systems along with the targeted asset performance. Another report focused on RTA’s Sustainability Report, which highlighted RTA’s notable achievements during the Sustainability Year 2023, sustainability in migrating from private to public transportation and achieving net-zero emissions. A brainstorming session was held to forge a comprehensive and sustainable teamwork structure to fulfil Dubai’s ambitions and objectives. A presentation was made to showcase the developmental initiatives of RTA’s Transportation Research and Innovation Pavilion (TRIP), notably the challenge of designing and implementing the Transport Centre and the Maker Space to drive RTA’s R&D and Future Foresight strategies. Topics also included the Partnership Relations Management Charter, which highlighted RTA’s dedication to cultivating fruitful partnerships and enhancing its global standing through collaborative efforts. Lastly, the Community Commitment Charter was introduced, aiming to foster positive social engagement through various activities and events, thereby encouraging partner participation and contribution,” explained Al Mandoos.

“These gatherings promote the culture of dialogue and cooperation between RTA and its partners, considering it an integral component of achieving RTA’s futuristic vision. RTA’s Partners’ Council stands out as an effective and constructive platform for achieving shared objectives,” she concluded.
