RTA to auction 100 plates online on April 21st 2015

Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat

Registration for the auction starts on 14 April and the Auction will be kicked off on Tuesday 21st March and run for 3 days.

Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency, said: “The forthcoming online auction is anticipated to be hugely popular as it contains 100 distinguished plates selected to cater to customer needs, and offers customers full freedom in selecting their fancied plates in a hassle-free environment.

“The success of online auctions in the past contributed to enhancing the online services of the Vehicles Licensing Department in the context of its annual plan aimed at improving the calibre of public transactions and achieving customers’ satisfaction,” he continued.

“To participate in the auction, the bidder has to register through a variety of communication channels; either thorough logging to RTA website, or visiting any customer service center in Dubai to seek assistance from staffs in completing the registration process. Each potential bidder has to deposit a security cheque amounting to five thousand dirham, and pay participation fees of 110 dirham at a customer service center (Umm Al Ramool, Deira, or Al Tawar Municipal Center). The successful bidder has to settle due amounts within 10 days after the closure of the auction to avoid being blacklisted,” he explained.

In a related development, Nimaat revealed that a team from RTA’s Call Center is being furnished with all information related to the auction and will be ready to respond to any public inquiries made through the toll-free number 8009090 about the procedures of participation or payment.
