RTA embarks on theatrical presentation of books through the Readers Club contest

The contest resulted in the Traffic and Roads Agency emerging as the winner, followed by the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector as the first runner-up, and the Corporate Technical Support Services Sector as the second runner-up.

Ms. Sheikha Al Jarman, Director of Development and Corporate Development at the RTA, said: “Readers Club contest is part of the knowledge tools employed by the RTA with considerable rewards offered to those who demonstrate in-depth reading of any book in RTA’s library in a contest officiated by a panel of high-class specialized judges in a bid to make culture a lifestyle of employees. This edition of the contest was featured by a theatrical performance of a book read and nominated for the awards. Some of the participating teams made a non-conventional display of the book read (a condition of entering the contest) through staging a virtual theatrical performance on RTA’s theatre. This has prompted us to develop special assessments for such a style in presenting knowledge. The books displayed in the contest were: Discover Your Inner Leader, The Skill of Leadership in Work, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, New Lands, Life Through 80/20, Brainstorming & Ideas Generation, and 360 Degrees.

“RTA’s library contains hundreds of specialized books in all fields of knowledge. So the Readers Club contest aims to make use of this cultural wealth by encouraging employees to read more through Readers Club contest as we are seeking to nurture and empower the knowledge of employees. We have got a library of more than four thousand books in various fields encompassing arts, management, humanity and science fields; some of them in Arabic, while others are translated books of high-caliber writers. We cannot make use of this treasure chest of knowledge without mobilizing our staff and motivating them to adopt self-education habits in the interest of the RTA,” added Al Jarman.
