RTA offers training exposure to Emirati rail engineers in Singapore05/02/2015
Ms. Kawther Kazim, Director of Human Resources and Development, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at the RTA, said: “The Department is always keen on organizing training programs for its employees locally or abroad. The move stems out of RTA’s strategy which prioritizes the enhancement of the skills & expertise of technical Emiratis in various fields including the rail industry with the aim of improving their performance & competence in their respective jobs, be it rail operation or maintenance. The RTA was therefore keen on coordinating with the Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Singapore Mass Rapid Transport (SMRT) to dispatch a group of engineers to review the work processes at these entities, particularly as Singapore has a wealth of experience and plays a leading role in this regard. RTA’s Human Resources and development Department is compiling and undertaking year-long professional improvement plans covering all jobs as well as career succession plans and job paths.
“This visit contributed to offering RTA’s despatched engineer a range of benefits from the site training in that environment where they reviewed the best practices adopted by those reputed entities in Singapore. The move is in line with the directives of the senior management to care for Emirati staffs and offer them exposure to a variety of technical fields as part of the efforts to nurture a promising and potent generation capable of facing future challenges and contributing positive & excellent ideas enriching the business of the RTA.
