Steps
- Log in using your username and password, UAE Pass, or the details of your Emirates ID, Driving Licence, plate number, or Traffic File.
- Select Licensing Services from the dashboard.
- Select Vehicles .
- Select the vehicle for which you want to change the plate number.
- Select Vehicle Plate Management from Vehicle Licensing Services .
- Select Third Plate Number for Light Vehicle .
- Specify the status of the plate (lost/not lost).
- Select the new plate design.
- Select how you want to receive and hand over the plate (through service centres or delivery service).
- If you choose to hand over the old plate and receive the new one at a service centre, select the centre you want from the list.
- If you choose to hand over the old plate and receive the new one through delivery service, enter the pickup and delivery address.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Pay the fines, if any.
- Receive the Ownership Certificate and receipts online.
- Head to the centre to hand over the old plate and receive the new one within 14 days to avoid the cancellation of the application, or select the delivery service.

You Should Know
- To cancel the third plate free of charge through RTA website or RTA Dubai app, follow the steps below:
- Log in using your username and password, or UAE Pass.
- Select from the dashboard the vehicle with the third plate.
- Click Cancel Third Plate .
- Receive a notification that the transaction is completed.
- Hand over the third plate at one of the Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centres, or select the delivery service.
- If your plates are lost, you must contact Dubai Police to issue a Lost Plate Certificate, then replace them with the new plate designs and pay the fees.
- Place the plate on the bicycle rack in a visible way.
- The plates are manufactured on the spot at the service centres.
- Request a third plate when Registering a New Vehicle through the available service channels.

- Q : If I lose the vehicle plates in one of the GCC countries, how can I replace them?
- A :
- If you lose 1 of the 3 plates, you can drive back to the UAE and you must submit the police report.
- If you lose 2 of the 3 plates, you can't drive the vehicle back to the UAE and you must submit the police report.
- If the police report is issued outside the country, it must be ratified by:
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the Ownership Certificate was issued
- The UAE embassy in the above-mentioned country or the embassy of that country in the UAE
- The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- If the police report is issued in the UAE, RTA doesn't require it to be sealed, this depends on Dubai Police.

- A : No, the plate can be delivered at any Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centre.
- Q: If the third plate isn't delivered, will the application be cancelled?
- A: If the third plate isn't delivered within 14 working days, the application will be cancelled and you'll have to reapply.
