- Log in using your username and password, or UAE Pass.
- Select the vehicle.
- In case the plate is lost outside Dubai, upload the Police Report.
- Select the lost or damaged plate (front, rear, or both).
- If both plates are lost, choose to replace the plate number with another reserved, random or owned number.
- Select the plate design and the centre to hand over the old plates and receive the new ones, or select the delivery service.
- Pay the fees after agreeing to the terms and conditions.
- Receive the Vehicle Ownership Certificate and receipts online.
- Head to the centre to hand over the old plates (in case of damage) and receive the new ones within 14 days to avoid the cancellation of the application.

- Select front and back plate size.
- Select the delivery and collection method, then review the details of the current and new plates before proceeding.
- Pay the fees through the available online payments.
- You can track your application from the history page.

Important to Know
You Should Have
- A lost report sealed by the police department in the concerned country, if the vehicle plates are lost in one of the GCC countries.
- The old plate if it's damaged.
You Should Do
- Pay all your traffic fines.
- If you're using old plate design, change it to the new design through the Change Plate Number and Design service before proceeding to replace the damaged plate number.
You Should Know
- The new Expo branded plate must be identical to the initial plate.
- If your plates are lost, you must replace them with the new plate designs, and pay the Knowledge and Innovation fee.
- You or your legal representative must be present in person if the service is requested through the centre.
- On Sundays, Al Yalayis Vehicle Testing and Muhaisna Shamil centres only provide inspection services.
- The plates are manufactured on the spot at the service centres.

FAQs
- Q : If I own the number but lost both Dubai vehicle plates, will I get the same or a different plate number when I apply for Replacing a Lost/Damaged Plate Number?
- A : You'll receive the same number because you own it.
- Q : What's the procedure if I lose my plate number and apply for a replacement, but I lose the replacement or the other plate number within 6 months or less?
- A : You'll receive a random plate number. However, if you want to get the same plate number as the one you lost, you'll have to wait 6 months if the plates were stolen and 1 year if they were lost, depending on the Police report.
- Q : Can I replace a lost/damaged plate if the vehicle registration has expired or is about to expire?
- A : No, but you can replace the plate when renewing the vehicle licence.
- Q : If I lose the vehicle plates in one of GCC countries, how can I replace them?
- A :
- If you lose 1 plate, you can drive back to the UAE and you must submit the police report.
- If you lose 2 plates, you can't drive the vehicle back to the UAE and you must submit the police report.
- If the police report is issued outside the country, it must be sealed. If it's issued in the UAE, RTA doesn't require it to be sealed, this depends on Dubai Police.

- Q : If I want to replace a lost/damaged plate, do I have to hand over the second plate at the centre?
- A : If the plate is damaged, you must hand it over at the centre and replace it with a new one. If the plate is lost, you must submit a police report. If only one plate is lost and the other is available but old, you must hand over the old one at the centre to issue 2 new plates.
- Q: Can I replace the motorcycle plate number in the branch?
- A: Yes, you can change the motorcycle plate number directly in the branch that has a motorcycle plate factory without completing the process online first. The motorcycle has only one plate, so there’s no replacement and you must apply to change the plate number.
