Important to Know

You Should Know

  1. The minimum fare is AED 12 for road pickup and AED 13 for e-hail.
  2. Additional fares apply when passing through Salik gates.
  3. An extra charge of AED 20 applies when passing through Sharjah.
  4. The waiting fare is 50 fils per minute for all types of vehicles.
  5. Taxi fares are subject to change during peak hours, at events locations, and at New Year's Eve events locations.
  6. 1 kilometre is charged at AED 2.19.
  7. Rush hours are as follows:
    • Monday to Thursday: 8am - 10am and 4pm - 8pm.
    • Friday: 8am - 10am and 4pm - 12am.
    • Saturday and Sunday: 4pm - 12am.
  8. You can use Dubai Taxi to travel within the Emirate of Dubai or from Dubai to another emirate. Dubai Taxi doesn’t cover trips starting from other emirates, regardless of their destination.

  1. Q : Can I share the taxi with someone with a different drop-off destination?
    • A : Yes.
  2. Q : Are multiple pickups and drop-offs allowed?
    • A : Yes they're allowed, and the taxi driver can't restart the meter.
  3. Q : What's the procedure if I lose my belongings in the taxi?
    • A : You must submit a case through the S’hail app by following these steps:
      • If the taxi is booked via the Sahel app:
        • Select My Trips at the bottom of the screen.
        • Select History of taxi bookings.
        • Select Report a Lost Item .
        • Describe the lost item and upload a photo or any related document.
      • If the taxi is booked through other channels:
        • Select More at the bottom of the screen.
        • Select Feedback .
        • Choose the category, then select Taxi Lost & Found .
        • Fill in the following mandatory information: vehicle roof color, pick-up and drop-off location and date, trip fare and payment method, description of the lost item, booking reference number (if available), and taxi plate number (if available).
