You Should Know
- Required contracts according to the legal type:
- Sole Proprietorship: no Memorandum of Association required
- Service agent: no Service Agent Contract required
- Limited Liability Company: Memorandum of Association
- Single-Owner L.L.C.: Memorandum of Association
- Civil Company: Memorandum of Association of civil company
- General Partnership: Memorandum of Association of a joint venture
- Public Joint-Stock Company: Memorandum of Association
- Private Joint-Stock Company: Memorandum of Association.
- If the company is the Dubai branch of a parent company in another emirate, the customer must provide the Memorandum of Association of the parent company.
- If the plates of the registered vehicle are consulate plates, you must provide an NOC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contact the Customer Happiness Centre - Deira.
- Transactions for Free Zones in Jebel Ali are only processed in the Jebel Ali Centre.
- If you don't have a Traffic File, you must open a new one (new file fees: AED 200).
- If you apply for this certificate for a vehicle listed on customs papers under the name of a showroom or agency in another emirate, and you then transfer and register the vehicle in Dubai, the certificate will be issued in Dubai only and will reflect your name as the first owner, provided you're the first to register the vehicle in the UAE. No information is retrieved from other emirates.
- If you imported a vehicle from abroad and registered it in Dubai, you'll be listed as the first owner unless the vehicle was previously registered in the UAE and exported before you reimported it.
- On Sundays, Al Yalayis Vehicle Testing and Muhaisna Shamil centres only provide inspection services.

- Q: Where can I apply for a special/customised certificate?
- A: For special/customised certificates, you must go to Customer Happiness Centres in Deira or Umm Ramool . You can apply for this certificate, which is subject to specific provisions, to drive your vehicle outside the UAE. As the certificate isn't part of the available services on the RTA website, the centre employee writes it manually and specifies your needs.
- Q: If I was the first owner of a vehicle in Dubai but I no longer own it, can I apply for a Vehicle First Owner Certificate?
- A: No, you can't apply because you're no longer the owner.
- Q: If I was the first owner of a vehicle in Dubai, but I sold it to a new owner and then bought it back in my name, can I apply for a Vehicle First Owner Certificate in my name?
