The Outstanding Sustainable Transport Award This category focuses on distinguished and pioneering practices and initiatives to raise the level of sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) in the roads and transportation sector to the highest levels, and leads to:

1. Developing long-term strategies and plans for sustainability at the institutional level, applying them at the operational level, and measuring their impact in the three aspects (environmental, economic, and social).
2. Encouraging and instilling sustainable behaviour in society through community engagement and awareness initiatives.
3. Producing a qualitative change in the implementation of sustainability plans at the city and/or community levels.
4. Obtaining global leadership and prestigious certificates in the field of sustainability.

Initiatives in Mobility Management This category focuses on applied practices and initiatives that contributed to the provision of integrated transportation systems, efficient infrastructure, and effective smart applications, and lead to:

1. Developing a flexible road and transportation infrastructure capable of adapting to climate change.
2. Developing innovative solutions and technologies that integrate existing and new transport systems.
3. Developing smart applications and electronic information for users that contribute to facilitating transactions and completing trips smoothly and easily.
4. Encouraging smart mobility, such as autonomous mobility, interconnection between vehicles, and communication between various modes of transportation and roadside devices.

Initiatives in Transport Safety This category focuses on the initiatives and practices that contribute to raising the levels of security and safety for transport systems and infrastructure and for users of various means of transport, and lead to:

1. Developing mass and individual means of transportation and infrastructure that are safer and more secure.
2. Developing smart monitoring and warning methods to ensure the safety and security of users of various means of transport.
3. Reducing the number of accidents and human and material losses in transport systems and its related infrastructure.
4. Raising user awareness and providing training opportunities.

Initiatives in Environmental Protection This category focuses on applied practices and initiatives that have contributed to raising the efficiency of using mass transportation and non-emitting means of transportation of all kinds, which would reduce the negative impact of transportation on the environment, and lead to:

1. Increasing the use of mass transportation, reducing reliance on private vehicles in the transportation process, and reducing the number of individual trips.
2. Increasing the use of zero-emission means of transportation, such as bicycles, electric scooters, walking, and others.
3. Switching to environmentally friendly vehicles and reducing the levels of air pollution resulting from vehicle exhausts.
4. Treating and reducing the levels and effects of pollution resulting from various means of transport using modern and innovative solutions.

Initiatives for People of Determination This category focused on initiatives and practices that have directly or indirectly contributed to raising the efficiency of the transportation system for people of determination, and leads to:

1. Developing infrastructure and transportation systems that facilitate the movement of people of determination and help societal integration.
2. Developing innovative solutions, applications, and technologies to enhance the mobility of people of determination.

Research & Development Category

 

Best Student Project / Research This category is intended for school and university students at the undergraduate level and below with regard to sustainable transportation aspects, provided that they adhere to the well-known scientific research conditions.
Best Academic Research/Project This category is intended for independent researchers, university professors, master's and doctoral students who have conducted research in the field of sustainable transport, provided they adhere to the well-known scientific research conditions.

Special Honours Category

 

Best Consultant in the Field of Sustainability This category is intended for consulting entities that work with the Roads and Transport Authority and provides its advisory, design and supervisory services in accordance with the strategic axes of sustainability (social, environmental, economic) that contribute to the safety and health of the public, the sustainability of mobility and the development of the economy. The winners will be nominated by the Higher Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport.
Best Contractor in the Field of Sustainability This category is intended for entity that works with the Roads and Transport Authority and implements various project plans, which include (construction, maintenance, and the provision of contracting services of all kinds) in accordance with the strategic axes of sustainability (social, environmental, economic) that contribute to the safety and health of the public, the sustainability of mobility and the development of the economy. The winners will be nominated by the Higher Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport.
Best Partner in the Field of Sustainability This category is intended for the partners of the Roads and Transport Authority in implementing projects, providing joint services to the public, and directly supporting the strategic sustainability axes (social, environmental, and economic). The winners will be nominated by the Higher Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport.
