Steps
- Log in using your username and password, UAE Pass, or the details of your plate number, Traffic File, or Trade Licence.
- Select Licensing Services from the dashboard.
- Select Vehicles .
- Select the vehicle for which you want to change the plate number.
- Select Vehicle Plate Management from Vehicle Licensing Services .
- Select Change Plate Number .
- Specify the status of the plate (lost/not lost).
- Select the new plate design and the size of the front and back plates.
- Select how you want to receive and hand over the plates (through service centres or delivery service).
- If you choose to hand over the old plates and receive the new ones at a service centre, select the centre you want from the list.
- If you choose to hand over the old plates and receive the new ones through delivery service, enter the pickup and delivery address.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Pay the fines, if any.
- Receive the Vehicle Ownership Certificate and receipts online.
- Head to the centre to hand over the old plates and receive the new ones within 14 days to avoid the cancellation of the application, or select the delivery service.

Important to Know
You Should Know
- You or your legal representative must be present in person if the service is requested through the centre.
- You must hand over the vehicle plates.
- Transactions for Free Zones in Jebel Ali are only processed in the Jebel Ali Centre.
- If the plates of the registered vehicle are consulate plates, you must provide an NOC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contact the Customer Happiness Centre - Deira.
- Only Sole Proprietorships and Single Member Limited Liability Companies can use the authorised signatory feature to apply for services through the RTA website.
- On Sundays, Al Yalayis Vehicle Testing and Muhaisna Shamil centres only provide inspection services.
- The plates are manufactured on the spot at the service centres.

- Companies using delivery motorcycles must install 2 new gold plates bearing the number 9 (front and back), in case of registration, renewal, damage or loss of the previous plates, or change of number.
