RTA launches Smart Drive app
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the Smart Drive application Dubai Gitex 2014, which has been made available at Google Play and Apple Store in mobile phones. The service is totally new and is based on a navigation system of the UAE using GPS technology to guide drivers in their daily travels across the Emirate, without bothering to connect to the internet in accessing most of the services offered by the app.
This helps curb traffic congestion by saving time and effort when used by motorists to reach their destinations by driving through short-cuts and alternative roads. They can also know the stops in the Emirate of Dubai when approaching destinations. Voice commands are also available in both Arabic and English languages accompanying the navigation system.
