Apply for a Permit to Register an Extended Vehicle to Transport Passengers in Luxury Vehicles

This service enables you to obtain a permit to register an extended vehicle according to the requirements of the vehicles approved for the activity and the requirements of the contract. The data of the extended vehicle is added to the permits linked to the company's contract, and the plates are reserved until the inspection of the technical committee in preparation for the registration of the vehicle.

Companies that transport passengers in luxury vehicles, that have an electronic signed contract under the extended vehicles category, are eligible to apply for this service.

Extended Vehicle Addition Permit

  • 1,000 AED franchise fee for each vehicle with a minimum of 1 vehicle
  • 5,000 AED issuing fee for the addition permit with a minimum of 1 vehicle
  • 1,500 AED extended vehicle adoption fee when registering each vehicle.

Extended Vehicle Registration Permit

  • 1,000 AED franchise fee for each vehicle (for new companies if the vehicle was the first one registered on the traffic file)
  • 1,500 AED extended vehicle adoption fee when registering each vehicle.

Extended Vehicle Replacement Permit

  • 1,500 AED extended vehicle adoption fee when registering each vehicle.

To register an extended vehicle to complete the contracted number of vehicles

  1. The customer logs in to the company account on RTA Website.
  2. The customer selects Company Dashboard / My Contract.
  3. The customer selects the service Apply for an Extended Vehicle Permit.
  4. The customer enters the details of the extended vehicle.
  5. The Centralized Inspection System (CIS) books an inspection appointment and a vehicle technical inspection and sends a notification to the company with the case reference number, the inspection date, and the inspection centre name.
  6. The customer heads to the centre for the inspection and the technical inspection test.
  7. The customer registers the extended vehicle at the Customer Happiness Centres or at the Technical Inspection Centres authorised in Dubai.

To add an extended vehicle to the contract

  1. The customer logs in to the company account on RTA Website.
  2. The customer selects Company Dashboard / My Contract.
  3. The customer selects the service Apply for a Vehicle Addition Permit.
  4. The customer completes the addition procedure.
  5. The customer applies for the electronic permit of extended vehicle through the Company Dashboard/My Contract.
  6. The Centralized Inspection System (CIS) books an inspection appointment and a vehicle technical inspection and sends a notification to the company with the case reference number, the inspection date, and the inspection centre name.
  7. The customer heads to the centre for the inspection and the technical inspection test.
  8. The customer registers the extended vehicle at the Customer Happiness Centres or at the Technical Inspection Centres authorised in Dubai.

Validity

The validity varies according to the permit that the vehicle will be linked to

  • Registration Permit: valid from the start date of the contract and until the date of registration of the last vehicle on the permit.
  • Replacement permit: valid from the date of implementation of the vehicle registration application (removing the vehicle from the traffic file) until the contract expiration date, and that in case the condition of registering all contracted vehicles was fulfilled.
  • Addition permit: valid from the date of permit activation until the registration of the last vehicle on the permit.

Terms and conditions
  • The company must register extended vehicles through its account on RTA website.
  • It is not possible to complete the vehicle registration transaction if the required number of bank/cash guarantees and post-dated cheques for the monthly operating fee is not submitted.
  • The company must have a valid trade licence.
  • It is not possible to register an extended vehicle unless the company e-contract is listed as an extended vehicles contract.
  • The manufacturing year of the vehicle subject of the contract must not be older than 10 years from the current year.
  • Administrative vehicles cannot be registered.
  • The requirements and fees for the addition, registration, and replacement are applied when registering an extended vehicle according to the permit through which the vehicle will be linked to the contract.
  • The extended vehicles can be transferred among the sector’s companies without being subject to the inspection of technical committees and without applying the condition of the vehicle's year of manufacture (the current or previous year only) . The average life expectancy of the transferred vehicle is calculated based on its year of manufacture and its specifications (for companies listed with an extended vehicles contract only).
  • The vehicle should conform to the quality standards in the luxury vehicle inspection during the technical committee inspection.
  • The traveled kilometres should not exceed 50, 000 KMs.
  • Extended vehicles are subject to inspection by the technical committee for the 8th, 9th and 10th years of the vehicle life.
