Applying For A Driving Instructor Permit

This service enables you to apply for a driving instructor permit to train the individuals who have applied for a driving license at the driving institutes or at the companies.

Eligibility

Individual customers, citizens and residents, are eligible to apply for this service.

Required documents

  1. Copy of the driving license issued in UAE for a period not less than 3 years
  2. Good Conduct Certificate from Dubai police
  3. Eye test
  4. Emirates ID
  5. Copy of the passport + valid residence visa or valid visit visa
  6. 1 personal photograph.

Output

Driving instructor permit.

Service fees

  • 400 AED to issue a permit for 1 category
  • 100 AED for each additional category
  • 200 AED knowledge test
  • 200 AED practical test
  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Validity

1 year.

Average processing time

  • 1 hour.

Ways to apply

Process

Through Service Centre:

  • The customer submit the required documents through the Centralized Training System
  • If all conditions were met, RTA approves the application
  • The customer settles the fees through the e-wallet and gets the receipt.

Terms and conditions

  • The customer must pass the practical test and knowledge test
  • Booking the test appointments is done in coordination between the institute and RTA supervisor
  • In case of failure in any of the tests, the applicant should sit for new tests and pay their relevant fees until passing all of them
  • The customer's legal age must be 25 years old on the application date.
