Apply for Inspecting a Trailer and Semi-Trailer

This service enables you to apply for the inspection, licensing, and issuing an ownership certificate for a trailer and semi-trailer.

Eligibility

Individual customers, citizens and residents, and companies that own private vehicles are eligible to apply for this service.

Required documents

For individuals:

  1. Recognition and commitment letter
  2. Possession certificate
  3. Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC)
  4. Transfer certificate
  5. Technical inspection certificate
  6. Chassis engraving payslip
  7. Receipt of purchasing a trailer or a semi-trailer from the local manufacturing shop
  8. Photo of the trailer or semi-trailer where the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) was engraved on the chassis

For companies:

  1. Copy of the trade license
  2. No Objection Certificate from the company
  3. Recognition and commitment letter
  4. Possession certificate
  5. Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC)
  6. Transfer certificate
  7. Technical inspection certificate
  8. Chassis engraving payslip
  9. Receipt of purchasing a trailer or a semi-trailer from the local manufacturing shop
  10. Photo of the trailer or semi-trailer chassis where the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) was engraved

Output

  • Trailer and semi-trailer ownership certificate to make sure that the vehicle is roadworthy and meets all the requirements of the safety standards in order to drive it on public roads
  • 2 plates to place them on the front and back sides of the vehicle.

Service fees

  • 150 AED trailer and semi-trailer inspection
  • 150 AED chassis engraving
  • 100 AED trailer and semi-trailer re-inspection
  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Validity

Chassis VIN: 90 days.

Average processing time

  • 10 minutes.

Process

Through Service Centres:

  • The customer fills in the forms of licensing a trailer or a semi-trailer at the service centre
  • The customer submits the required documents
  • The customer is required to settle the service fees
  • The customer receives the licensing ownership certificate
  • The customer also receives 2 plates to place them on the front and back sides of the vehicle.

Terms and conditions

  • The trailer/semi-trailer must comply with the technical requirements of trailers and semi-trailers
  • The trailer/semi-trailer must comply with the specification standards
  • The trailer/semi trailer must comply with the security and public safety conditions
  • The customer must verify that all set conditions are met before applying for the service at the service centre
  • The customer must provide all the registration requirements
  • The customer must provide all the chassis engraving requirements
  • The vehicle must pass the technical inspection test.
