Applying For An NOC To Amend A Trade License Name

This service enables you to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to request the amendment of a trade license name.

Eligibility

Licensed company by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

  1. Certificate of the reserved trade name from the Department of Economic Development

Ways to apply

Process

Through the website:

  • Visit RTA website and select 'Licensing Services'
  • Select 'Modifying the Trade Name' from the list of express services
  • Approve the terms and conditions after reading them
  • Click on 'Apply for Service' button
  • Enter the company's data (Traffic file number and business license) and the security code and click on 'Search' button
  • Click on 'Modify' button (located next to the company's commercial name) from the company's details screen
  • Amend the license name in Arabic and English, and attach a scanned copy of the NOC from the Department of Economic Development and then click on 'Edit' button
  • After submitting, the system directs you to a page as per the company activity:
    • If the activity requires payment, the system directs the customer to the 'payment' screen
    • If the activity doesn’t require payment, the system directs the customer to a 'no service fees' screen
  • Click on 'Submit' from the fees screen. The system generates a new application number for the request and sends it to the Employee of Administrative Procedures (EPS) for verification
  • After the approval of the application, the system sends to the customer a text message as a follow-up
  • The customer receives the service through 3 channels:
    1. RTA sends the NOC to the customer via email to print it
    2. The customer collects the NOC from the service centre at a time chosen during the completion of the transaction
    3. The customer receives the NOC through a courier company for a charge of 20 AED. The courier company makes 3 attempts to deliver the NOC before sending it back to the centre where the customer collects it.

Through the call centre:

  • The customer contacts the call centre 8009090 and requests an NOC to amend a trade license name
  • The customer provides the trade license number and the traffic file number to complete the transaction
  • The customer receives the service through 3 channels:
    1. RTA sends the NOC to the customer via email to print it
    2. The customer collects the NOC from the service centre at a time chosen during the completion of the transaction
    3. The customer receives the NOC through a courier company for a charge of 20 AED. The courier company makes 3 attempts to deliver the NOC before sending it back to the centre where the customer collects it.

Terms and conditions

  • The customer must not have pending payments or fines
  • The customer must check with the Finance Department at RTA (PO Box 118 899 Dubai, United Arab Emirates) if he believes that he has the right to get a refund.

Note: RTA reserves its right to reject the application in case of fraud or misleading information and will be attended to as per the UAE law.

FAQs

  • Question 1: What is the procedure if the company wants to change its name or the name on the trade license in the traffic file?

Answer 1: The company must have the approval to amend the name of the trade license and must update the company's traffic file at the Customer Happiness Centre in Deira or through the website.
