- Purchase nol card, if you don't have one.
- Top up your nol card if the balance isn't sufficient.
- Tap your card on the card reader located at the entrance gate in the Metro station.
- Listen to the announcements and check the digital screens for the next stop.
- Tap your nol card on the card reader at the exit gate of your destination station to deduct your journey fare.

- In order to ensure that Dubai Metro is used safely and securely, the violations and fines schedule is applied (displayed on the signage boards in stations). Inspectors patrol in Metro stations and cabins to make sure the Metro is used properly.
- Unaccompanied minor policy:
- Below 8: not recommended to use public transport unless accompanied by adults.
- Between 8-11: the permit must be issued by one of the parents to allow the child to travel alone.
- 12 and above: allowed to use public transport without being accompanied by adults.
FAQs
- Q: What's the procedure if I lose my belongings in the Metro?
- A: You must check with the police officer at any Metro station. The officer coordinates with the other stations to check if the lost item was found.
All found items are handed over to the police officer at the station who will give them to the security office of Dubai Police at Burjuman Metro Station (found items aren't kept in Metro stations).
Found items can be collected from the security office located at Burjuman Metro Station (exit No. 1), between 7am and 11pm on weekdays (Mon-Fri) and between 1pm and 12am on weekends (Sat-Sun).
