Refund nol Cards Balance

Refund your nol card remaining or non-activated balance if your card is lost, stolen, damaged, faulty, or expired, or if you want to cancel it. Refund overcharge in case of itinerary cancellation, failure to check out, swiping the card twice, or charging of a higher fare.

Steps

  1. Log in to RTA website using your UAE Pass or through your RTA account.
  2. Select Refund on the dashboard.
  3. Click Refund Type , then Refund Overcharge Claim .
  4. Enter the nol card Tag ID and click Next .
  5. Enter the details (transport mode, usage date, overcharge reason, route, mobile number, and email address).
  6. Submit the application.
  7. The request is approved within 7 working days.

  2. Select Overcharge Refund Request.
  3. Place the nol card on the NFC area or select any of the cards linked to your RTA account.
  4. Select the following details:
    • Transport mode
    • Trip date
    • Overcharge reason
    • Bus Route number/Station number
  5. Confirm the application details and submit the application.

  1. You must apply for refund within 5 days from the date of the trip.
  2. You can apply for refund of ridership overcharge only on Metro, Bus, and Tram.
  3. The maximum amount for an overcharge claim refund is AED 4.50 for Silver nol cards, AED 9 for Gold nol cards, and AED 2.25 for POD, Senior Emiratis and Residents, Students nol cards.
  4. Refund requests for lost/damaged cards are only accepted after applying for a replacement or renewal.
  5. The cash refund request is cancelled if the refund isn't collected within 30 days.
  6. The refund is valid for activation within 180 days from the date of approval.
  7. Once the refund is approved, you'll receive an SMS on the registered mobile number.

FAQs

  1. Q: Can I apply for an overcharge refund through RTA website if I have a nol Combi card?
    • A: Yes. However, if you lose or replace your nol Combi card, the request must be raised and initiated by the bank.
  2. Q: How will I know that the refund request was successfully submitted?
    • A: You'll receive an SMS with the TAG ID after submitting the refund request. After 5 working days, you'll receive a second SMS with the collection instructions for cash refund, and activation instructions for the transfer to another nol card.
