Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended the deadline of registering and receiving submissions of the 12th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) in collaboration with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) up to December 9th, 2021. The extension aims to accommodate larger numbers of government, semi-government entities as well as private companies in the UAE and MENA region to register and compete for the awards.

Extending the deadline of registration and making submissions for the 12th edition of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport is made in response to the interest of the business community in the UAE and the region to take part in this thrilling experience as it offers them a perfect platform to showcase their initiatives relating to sustainable transport. The extension of the deadline of registration and submission for DAST also contributes to enriching the competitiveness of the awards. The concerned committee has completed all phases relating to the studying of submissions and stands fully ready to organise this year’s edition.

The award will continue to receive submissions for the award from the government, semi-government entities and the business community as well as schools, universities, and public benefit societies in the region. The revised deadline for receiving submissions is 09th December 2021. The Judges Panel will carry out the required assessments of nominations, and winners of all categories will be announced in the first quarter of 2022.

Registration in all categories can be processed in simple steps through the Award’s website (www.rta.ae/dast).  The process is designed to save time & effort, consolidate the Smart Government practices, and the Paperless Initiative advocated by the Dubai Government to facilitate the processing of customer transactions and make people happy.

Starting from this 12th edition of DAST, the supreme organising committee is introducing three categories to the special categories of the award: They are The Best Sustainability Partner category, Best Sustainability Contractor and the Best Sustainability Consultant category. The Best Journalist category relates to journalists that made the best coverage of sustainable transport in the UAE. The final category, which was introduced in the 9th edition of DAST, relates to The Best Media Organisation for the media team that provided the best coverage of sustainable transport in the UAE.
