This direct involvement ensures all departments align with Dubai's strategic vision and objectives. The Roads and Transport Authority has seen remarkable achievements under His Highness Sheikh Hamdan's guidance, in developing road and transport infrastructure. These improvements in the public transport systems resulted in an increase in ridership from 95 million in 2006 to over 700 million in 2023, and the extension of the road network from 8,715 lane-km in 2006 to 18,886 lane-km in 2023.

Additionally, the capacity of Creek crossings has grown from accommodating 36,000 vehicles per hour to 108,000 vehicles per hour over the same period. The government investments in revamping the road and transportation systems have brought economic benefits and enhanced the operational efficiency of the roads and transport network besides cementing Dubai's leading position in the global transportation landscape,” concluded Al Tayer.
