General Policies in Prequalification of contractors, suppliers & Investors
The vendor shall be subjected to the pre-qualification process when intending to enter into supplies/contracts with RTA with a value exceeding AED one million per contract, without prejudice to RTA’s right to subject any vendor/investor to the pre-qualification process, where deemed appropriate by RTA, regardless of the volume of the expected transactions with such Vendor. The investor shall also be subject to the prequalification process when intending to participate in limited auctions where the investment value exceeds AED one million. In the case of public auctions, the qualification process must be completed prior to awarding the bid to the investor.
The Vendor or investor may submit the prequalification application individually, or as part of a consortium or Joint Venture, subject to the following conditions:
For local and UAE authorized companies:
The Trade licence must be at least 3 years old.
The company must have at least 3 years of experience in the same scope of work, demonstrated through contracts or completion certificates for relevant projects.
In case of foreign unauthorized companies in UAE:
The Trade Licence must be at least 3 years old in the company’s country of origin
The company must have at least 3 years of experience in the same scope of work, demonstrated through contracts or completion certificates for relevant projects.
Prequalification shall be conditional upon opening a branch in the UAE in accordance with the regulations of the relevant Trade Licence authorities, prior to contracting, and obtaining all necessary approvals from the local authorities for the relevant activity
The company shall provide an undertaking letter from the parent company.
