Apply for a Permit to Register a Used Vehicle to Transport Passengers in Luxury Vehicles

This service enables you to obtain a permit to register a used vehicle according to the requirements of the vehicles approved for the activity and the requirements of the contract. The data of the used vehicle is added to the permits linked to the contract by the company, and the plates are reserved until the inspection of the technical committee in preparation for the registration of the vehicle.

Service fees

To register a vehicle through an Addition Permit

  • 1,000 AED franchise fees for each added vehicle with a minimum of 1 vehicle
  • 5,000 AED issuing fees of the addition permit with a minimum of 1 vehicle
  • 1,500 AED used vehicle adoption fees when registering each vehicle.

To register a vehicle through a Registration Permit

  • 1,000 AED franchise fees for each vehicle (for new companies if the vehicle was the first one registered on the traffic file)
  • 1,500 AED used vehicle adoption fees when registering each vehicle.

To register a vehicle through a Replacement Permit

  • 1,500 AED used vehicle adoption fees when registering each vehicle.

To add a used vehicle to the contract

  1. The customer logs in to the company account on RTA Website.
  2. The customer selects Company Dashboard / My Contract.
  3. The customer selects the service Apply for Vehicle Addition Permit to a Franchise Contract
  4. The customer attaches a certified official letter.
  5. The customer completes the addition procedure.
  6. The customer applies for the permit to register a used vehicle through the Company Dashboard/My Contract.
  7. The Centralized Inspection System (CIS) books an inspection appointment and a vehicle technical inspection and sends a notification to the company with the case reference number, the inspection date, and the inspection centre name.
  8. The customer heads to the centre for the inspection and the technical inspection test.
  9. The customer registers the used vehicle at the Customer Happiness Centres or at the Technical Inspection Centres authorised in Dubai.

Validity

The validity varies according to the permit that the vehicle will be linked to

  • Registration permit: from the issuance date of the registration permit that becomes valid from the contract start date, until the registration of the last vehicle on the permit.
  • Replacement permit: from the date of removing the vehicle that was replaced until the expiration date of the contract.
  • Addition permit: from the date of the electronic approval of the permit until the last vehicle registered on the permit.

Terms and conditions
  • The company must register used vehicles through its account on RTA Website.
  • It is not possible to complete the used vehicle registration transaction if the required number of bank/cash guarantees and post-dated cheques was not submitted for the monthly operating fee.
  • The company must have a valid trade licence.
  • Vehicles imported from any party other than the dealer (import companies – showrooms) are considered used.
  • Administrative vehicles cannot be registered.
  • The requirements and fees for the addition, registration, and replacement are applied when registering a used vehicle according to the permit through which the vehicle will be linked to the contract.
  • Used vehicles can be registered provided that their year of manufacturing is the current year, and they pass the inspection of the technical committee.
  • The vehicles can be transferred among the sector’s companies without being subject to the inspection of technical committees, or to the condition of having their manufacturing year the current one. The average life expectancy of the transferred vehicle is calculated based on its year of manufacturing, type and specifications.
  • The vehicle must conform to the quality standards in the used luxury vehicle inspection.
  • The traveled kilometres must not exceed 50,000 KM.
