To issue the permit
- Log in using your username and password, or through the Traffic File details.
- Select Vehicle Plate Trading Permits from the Permits services list.
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Enter the information.
- Upload the documents.
- Pay the fees.
- Receive a link to download the permit through email and SMS, or download it directly from the website.
To renew the permit
- Log in using your username and password, or through the Traffic File details.
- Select the required permit and click Renew Permit .
- Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Pay the fees.
- Receive a link to download the permit through email and SMS, or download it directly from the website.
To cancel the permit
- Log in using your username and password, or through the Traffic File details.
- Select the required permit and click Cancel Permit .
- The permit is cancelled in the system.
- Receive a refund of the deposit within 40 days.

- Fines associated with the Plate Trading Permits:
- Practising the activity without a permit: AED 5,000
- Practising the activity with an expired permit: AED 3,000
- Practising activities other than the ones licensed by RTA: AED 3,000
- Ceasing the practice of the activity for more than 6 months without notifying RTA: AED 1,000
- Holding auctions on vehicle plate numbers without RTA permission: AED 5,000
- Failing to provide RTA with documents, data, and necessary statistics related to the activity: AED 3,000
- Allowing a third party to use the permit without RTA prior consent: AED 3,000
- Failing to act in accordance with the stipulations and requirements approved by RTA to practise the activity: AED 3,000
- Interrupting or disrupting the work of employees: AED 5,000
- Selling the same vehicle plate number to more than 1 person: AED 10,000
- Selling plates in RTA service centres without RTA approval: AED 3,000.
