Important to Know

You Should Know

  1. The fine is calculated based on the activity type:
    • Transport Passengers in Taxi Vehicles: AED 1,000 per month per vehicle. A fine of AED 33.333 per day applies once the vehicle exceeds its lifespan, based on the date of its first registration.
    • Transport Passengers in Luxury Vehicles: AED 100 per day, for 30 days only (a maximum of AED 3,000 per fined vehicle). The fine is applied once the vehicle exceeds its lifespan, and starting from the first day the vehicle exceeds the expiry date of the permit.
  2. The fine calculation stops in the following cases:
    • Transport Passengers in Luxury Vehicles
      • The franchise contract with RTA expires.
      • The fine reaches the maximum value (AED 3,000 per fined vehicle).
      • The vehicle is removed from the Traffic File.
    • Transport Passengers in Taxi Vehicles:
      • The vehicle is removed from the Traffic File.
  3. Paying the fine without removing the vehicle from the Traffic File doesn't stop the automatic calculation of the fine.
  4. The period between the vehicle lifespan expiry and the luxury transport vehicle licence expiry date is considered a rectification period for the company to address the situation and remove the vehicle from the Traffic File. No fine is calculated during this period.
  5. The fine incurred by delayed replacement is collected after the completion of the Traffic File transactions (vehicle licensing transactions, except licence renewal of the vehicle exceeding its lifespan, and commercial licensing transactions, except Trade Licence renewal).

You Should Do

  1. Remove from your Traffic File every vehicle that exceeds its lifespan and its licence expiry date to stop the automatic calculation of the fines incurred by delayed replacement.

FAQs

      • Type: Extended, Station Wagon, Salon, etc.
