Apply for Transferring the Plate Number Ownership

This service enables you to transfer reserved number or numbers on registered vehicles.

Individual customers, citizens and residents, and companies that own private vehicles are eligible to apply for this service.
Required documents
  1. Original Emirates ID.
Service fees
  • According to the par value (plate number classification)
  • 100 AED plate number ownership certificate
  • VAT
  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.
Process time
  • 5 minutes.

Through the website

  • The customer logs in.
  • The customer selects "Licensing services" then presses "Special Plates Enquiry" and enters the plate number he wishes to buy, or the plate code or the plate digits or the cost then presses "Start Search".
  • The customer chooses the plate number, pays and receives the payment receipt.
  • The customer receives the plate number certificate through a courier company.

In case of VIP plate numbers

  • The customer submits the plate application that could take up to 10 working days for approval.
  • In case of approval, the customer receives an sms then logs in to his traffic file to pay the corresponding fees and get the payment receipt.
  • The customer receives the plate certificate through a courier company.

Through customer happiness centres or service providers

  • The customer presents the Emirates ID.
  • The customer is required to settle the fees.
  • The customer receives the receipt.
Average waiting time
  • Customer happiness centres and service providers: 10 minutes.

This service has no validity.
