Steps
- Go to Apply for an International Driving Licence page.
- Enter your Emirates ID number and expiry date to access your personal profile.
- Receive an OTP on your registered phone number.
- Pay the fines, if any.
- Select or upload a personal photo (if you upload a new photo, you must collect the licence from Customer Happiness Centre - Deira or Barsha only).
- Select the licence delivery method (from Customer Happiness Centre Deira or Al Barsha, or through the delivery service).
- Pay the fees.
- Receive the licence through the selected method.

- Select the Apply for an International Driving Licence service.
- Pay all traffic fines, if any.
- Enter your personal details.
- Select or upload a personal photo (if you upload a new photo, you must collect the licence from Customer Happiness Centre - Deira or Barsha only).
- Select a delivery method (from Customer Happiness Centre - Deira or Barsha or through the delivery service).
- Review the application details.
- Pay the fees.
- Receive the licence through the selected delivery method.

Important to Know
You Should Know
- You can use your International Driving Licence in all countries except the UAE.
- If you have a temporary or interim licence, you can't apply for an International Driving Licence.
- You must be present in person to collect your new licence.
- Your photo must have a white background with a straight head position, and if you attach it incorrectly, the support team contacts you to resubmit it.
- If you change your personal photo, your application is audited by the support team within 2 working days.
- You can't cancel the application after you submit it and pay the fees.
- You must use your original International Driving Licence.
- International delivery is only available within GCC.

- If you want to go to Japan, you must first obtain an International Driving Licence from RTA, and then visit the Emirates Automobile and Touring Club to receive an additional International Driving Licence free of charge.

FAQs
- Q: Can I use my personal photo in the International Driving Licence?
- A: Yes, you can. Otherwise, the system automatically withdraws the photo from your Emirates ID.
- Q: Can I use the same International Driving Licence in more than one country?
- A: Yes, you can as long as it’s valid, except in Japan which requires a free international licence from Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE.
- Q: Can I drive in Dubai with my International Driving Licence issued abroad?
- A: Yes, but only if you're on a visit visa, and you can only use it to drive a light vehicle or a motorcycle.
- Q: If I have a transit visa, can I drive a vehicle registered in Dubai?
- A: Yes, but only if you have a valid International Driving Licence and an approval from your insurance company.
- Q: How long after completing the online transaction will I receive the digital copy of the International Driving Licence?
- A: Digital International Driving Licences are no longer issued, as they aren't considered reliable. You must obtain the original licence, either through delivery or by visiting Customer Happiness Centres.
