RTA operational timings & Services updates

In line with the resolution of the Supreme Committee of Crises and Disaster Management; we have updated the working hours of public transport (metro, tram, buses, marine) and customer happiness centers. In addition to that, we have also updated the timings of some of the vehicle registration and licensing services. Stay safe!

Metro

If you're planning to go out, head to the station 30 minutes before the trip, and don't forget that wearing a face mask is mandatory and adhere to safety precautions and physical distancing while commuting.

  • Saturday to Thursday from 7 AM to 12 AM (midnight).
  • Friday from 10 AM to 12 AM (midnight).

Metro Red Line

Taxi

Taxi service users are obligated to wear masks and sit in the back seat.

Marine Transport across Dubai resumes its daily operations to secure necessary trips, except for the marine services in Dubai Water Canal, the Ferry service between Al Ghubaiba Station and Sharjah Aquarium Station, and recreational marine services.

All passengers are required to wear face masks at all times and adhere to safety precautions and physical distancing while commuting.
 

  • Operating hours from 7 AM to 10 PM.

 

Intercity Bus

Intercity Bus service is unavailable till further notice.

Bus

Dubai Bus will is fully operational from 6 AM until 11 PM.

 

  • Bus fare returns to normal from 6 AM to 11 PM.
  • Limited bus services from 11 PM till 6 AM (hospitals only).

Customer Happiness Centres

Three customer happiness centres in Umm Al Ramoul, Deira and Al Barsha, as well as 21 service provider centres are open, from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm.

Visitors of customer happiness centres and service providers are kindly requested to cooperate with staff and comply with the health procedures in place.

Al Shirawi, Cars Deira, SpeedFit, and Tasjeel (Discovery Gardens, International City and Al Tawar) Centres, as well as AutoPro (Mankhool) Centre will remain closed until further notice.

Our vehicle and driver's license renewal services are now completely online, from end to end.

Vehicle Licensing Services

For a seamless and swift user experience, RTA vehicle registration renewal service is now completely online, for 3 months, starting from 22 March 2020. This service will only be available through RTA digital channels, which include:

    RTA Dubai
   Dubai Drive
Mahboub


Now you don't need vehicle inspection, fine payment and traffic black points to complete the renewal process.
Once you will complete the transaction, your E-Vehicle Registration Card will be sent to you by SMS and will be valid for one year from the vehicle license expiration date. Moreover, you will also be able to view it in RTA apps accounts.

 

Note: According to the directives issued by the Ministry of Interior, vehicle technical inspection is required in case the vehicle ownership expired for more than six months, while vehicles where the registration expired for less than 6 months are excluded from the examination, where renewal can be done electronically without the need for examination.

Driver Licensing Services

The renewal of driving license will be temporarily unavailable through Customer Happiness Centers. Starting Sunday, 29th March,2020 until three months.

You can renew your driving license without having to do the eye test or fine payment. An e-permit will be issues to replace the physical one and it will be valid for one year.

Safety and epidemic prevention guidelines while using public buses

Don't leave your house unless necessary

Plan your trip in advance and avoid peak times

Follow the instructions of the station supervisors

Leave space between your and others while waiting for the bus

Don't crowd around the bus entrance or try and enter when it's full

The driver will control the opening of doors for the entry and exit of passengers, use only the front and middle doors

Make sure there is a vacant chair and leave a distance between you and others

The driver won't stop if the bus is full except to drop off passengers

Wear face masks at all times

Bus "stop" button will be out of service to avoid touching surfaces

Avoid using public transport if you have symptoms of flu
