Statement of Mattar Al Tayer marking Commemoration Day
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stated that the sacrifices of our brave soldiers in defending the prestige and dignity of the nation would remain a source of pride and inspiration for all of us.
The Commemoration Day, which falls on 30th November each year, is a memorable day in the history of the UAE. It is an occasion to recall the sacrifices of our heroic soldiers who have given their lives to perform their duties in defending legitimacy and coming to the rescue of the aggrieved in Yemen.
Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; the UAE has set a model for honouring those who have laid down their lives in the course of defending and protecting the nation. It is a day to remember and honour their sacrifices and send a message to future generations to learn the values of sacrifice and love for the nation. It is a day to reflect on the feats and heroic actions of Emiratis in serving and defending their nation.
