Road Upgrades on Al Marabea’ Street from Al Khail Road Exit to Al Asayel Street
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) completed road upgrades on Al Marabea’ Street as part of its ongoing efforts to develop road infrastructure and enhance traffic flow in response to Dubai’s urban expansion and traffic growth. The upgrades will enhance the road network’s efficiency and the service quality delivered to road users. The works included expanding a 1.1-km section of Al Marabea’ Street from Al Khail Road exit to Al Asayel Street, while addressing traffic bottlenecks. This increased the road’s capacity by 30%, improved traffic flow and reduced journey times by up to 30% during peak hours.
The improvements form part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to develop the road network across Dubai and enhance traffic efficiency through rapid traffic solutions that keep pace with the emirate’s urban growth. They provide smoother and safer journeys for road users, elevate quality of life and advance Dubai’s objectives for seamless and sustainable mobility.
Works on Al Marabea’ Street also involved expansion of an intersection by adding a new traffic lane for vehicles travelling from Al Marabea’ Street to Street 16A. This reduced congestion and queue lengths by 50%. Modern lighting poles were also installed to enhance traffic safety and improve visibility for road users at night.
Al Marabea’ Street is a key corridor in Al Quoz, connecting Al Khail Road with Al Asayel Street and providing direct access to several industrial, commercial and residential areas. It also serves traffic travelling to and from Al Quoz, Al Meydan, Business Bay and Downtown Dubai, strengthening connectivity across the emirate’s main road network and improving mobility in one of Dubai’s busiest areas.
RTA is currently carrying out further road upgrades on Al Marabea’ Street, which involves constructing a new service road with a continuous pedestrian walkway to serve the neighbouring industrial area. The works also include a new access point at the start of Al Khail Road exit leading towards Al Marabea’ Street, improving access to the area and enhancing safety for all road users. The upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of August 2026.
