The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has concluded its humanitarian and charitable activities of Ramadan by a series of community-oriented initiatives highlighted by ‘Your Eid Giveaway from RTA.’ It involved the distribution of Eid monetary giveaway to about 2000 children from 5 schools in Dubai and other places including orphans displaced from regional counties, under the patronage of the Red Crescent Society in Dubai. About 35 seniors took part in the Iftar feast under the initiative (Our Ramadan with Thukhor) hosted by Thukhor Social Club. Many internal events were held including serving Iftar to 420 RTA’s field employees, namely: parking inspectors, transport activities monitoring inspectors, monitoring & inspection inspectors, and driving test examiners.

“RTA is keen on making active participation in all social, humanitarian and charitable events during the holy month of Ramadan. Such events bring happiness to seniors and juniors, and make them perceive their active roles in the community,” said Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

“People Happiness is one of the strategic goals RTA implements effectively. RTA’s role is not limited to bringing happiness to its public transport riders and clients, but also covers students of schools and universities as well charitable and community oriented societies. This methodology is a true manifestation of RTA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards various segments of the community including citizens, residents, visitors and tourists descending on the Emirate from all over the globe,” added Moaza.

It is noteworthy that during Ramadan, RTA had carried out several other events including Meer Ramadan that had benefited 400 disadvantaged families in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and Kiswat Al Eid (Eid Clothing) as part of Eid Joy initiative that had covered 50 children affiliated to the Red Crescent Society in coordination with Rawafid Centre for Development and Education. Events also included Meals on Wheels for the distribution of Iftar meals at metro stations across Dubai involving wide participation of RTA leaders and volunteers.
