Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took part in the UAE’s celebration of the Flag Day, in response to the national initiative rolled out by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, to mark the event each year.

His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority hoisted the state flag on RTA’s Head Office in the presence of CEOs, directors, and RTA’s employees.

Al Tayer expressed his pride on this day, which boosts the spirit of cohesion amongst citizens and renews the loyalty to the nation that is bracing itself for celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the federation on the 2nd of December this year 2021.

The Flag Day is a national event in which we honour the value of the national flag. Since established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the UAE embraced the values of belonging, pride and achieving. Accordingly, the UAE has turned into a beacon of peace, tolerance and quality living for all citizens, residents and visitors as well as a meeting place for all civilisations.

Our beloved country is aspiring for the next fifty years with pride, cohesion and national unity, which we inherited from our leaders, who imparted on us the pride and loyalty to the flag. We pledge to them to remain loyal and committed to the path of the union. We will continue to work hard and prioritise the prosperity of citizens such that they become one of the happiest people on earth.

RTA’s celebration of the event included hoisting the state flag on several Dubai landmarks that included vital streets such as the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Tripoli Street, Al Maktoum Bridge, Dubai Water Canal, and the Trade Centre Round-About. Visual celebrations also included the waterfall of the Dubai Water Canal and the Tolerance Bridge across the Canal, which were decorated by the four colours of the flag. The national flag also decorated the pedestrian bridges on Al Wasl and Al Hadiqa Streets and was on display on the smart messaging signs across Dubai streets as well as the Dubai Metro screens and the internal screens of RTA premises.
