Hessa Street Improvement
Project Description
- Improving the street with its intersection with Sheikh Zayed Road, spanning 4.5 km.
- Improving four main intersections: Sheikh Zayed Road, First Al Khail Street, Al Asayel Street, and Al Khail Road.
- Increasing the number of lanes from two to four lanes
- Constructing a 13.5 km track for bicycles and e-scooters measuring 4.5 metres in width, 2.5 metres, and 2 metres for pedestrians.
Project Benefits
- Serves residential areas such as Al Sufouh 2, Al Barsha, and Jumeirah Village Circle
- Serves 640 thousand people, which is the expected population of the areas by 2030
- Doubles Hessa Street's capacity from 8,000 to 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions
- One of its intersections serves traffic towards Sharjah
