Deira Palm Entrance Bridge

Project Description

  • The execution of five bridges that lead to Deira Islands and are connected to the existing bridge crossing the navigational waterway.
  • The construction of bridges and ramps with a total length of 2,571 metres and a total carrying capacity of 20,700 vehicles per hour.
  • The first bridge consists of two lanes that provide free traffic for those coming from Al Khaleej Street towards the north of Deira Islands, with a length of 472 metres and a capacity of 3,000 vehicles per hour.
  • The second bridge has a capacity of three lanes and provides free traffic movement from Deira Islands towards Al Shindagha Tunnel, with a length of 503 metres and a capacity of 4,500 vehicles per hour.
  • The third bridge consists of two lanes and provides free traffic from Deira Islands to Al Khaleej Street, with a length of 647 metres and a capacity of 3,000 vehicles per hour.
  • The fourth bridge, which is 362 metres long, consists of six lanes and has a capacity of 7,200 vehicles per hour.
  • The fifth bridge is 587 metres long and consists of two lanes, with an estimated capacity of 3,000 vehicles per hour.
  • The addition of two signal-controlled intersections at the junctions of Al-Khaleej Street with Abu Hail and Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Street, replacing the existing roundabouts.
  • The construction of barriers, traffic signals, rainwater drainage works, the diversion of services and street lighting.


Project Benefits

  • The provision of entrances and exits to Deira Islands at the intersection of Al Khaleej Street with Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Street.
  • An increase in the efficiency of Al Khaleej Street and the provision of a higher level of service and traffic safety, starting from the Abu Hail Intersection in the north to Al Baraha Hospital in the south.
