Project Description

• Transforming the previous roundabout at the intersection of Emirates Road and Expo Road into a flyover, allowing traffic to move freely in all directions
• Increasing the number of lanes on Expo Road from four to six in each direction over a 3 km stretch
• Adding two-lane service roads on each side of Expo Road
• Development of Emirates Road with a length of 5 km

Project Benefits

• Increasing road capacity from 10,000 to 23,700 vehicles per hour
• Improving traffic flow to the Expo 2020 site, Dubai South and Al Maktoum International Airport
• Increasing traffic capacity threefold by allowing free traffic flow on main roads
