Apply for a Dewatering Lines Protection Permit

This service enables you to obtain a permit to protect utility lines such as foundation drainage system when they are required to be laid on part of the Right of Way (footpath, parking, sikka or hard shoulder, etc.) during construction works. These utility lines can be laid in different sites as allowed by the permit.

Eligibility
Contractors, and governmental organisations are eligible to apply for this service.
Required documents
  1. Detailed layout on a suitable scale showing the existing conditions with the proposed route of the dewatering line with suitable traffic tools and all safety measures as per Dubai Work Zone Traffic Management manual adopted in Dubai
  2. Photo of the work zone (with the date)
  3. Copy of the affection plan from the contractor and/or the coordinates of the dewatering lines (for projects in areas not regulated by Dubai Municipality)
  4. Copy of the building permit issued by the Building Permits authorities for building construction applications (for projects in areas not regulated by Dubai Municipality)

  • 75 AED permit fees
  • Refundable Security Deposit for the proposed temporary occupation of Right Of Way
  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Process
  1. The customer logs in using his username and password or UAE Pass.
  2. The customer selects New Permits from the left side menu.
  3. The customer clicks Permit Type selects the application type as per the required permit and scope of work.
  4. The customer selects the Sub-type of the application.
  5. The customer enters the duration and a clear description of the work as per the scope of work.
  6. The customer fills in his information.
  7. The customer marks the proposed work location on the map.
  8. The customer enters the contractor's contact information for technical discussion, if required.
  9. The customer enters the project information.
  10. The customer uploads the required documents.
  11. The customer clicks Submit to generate the application number.
  12. The customer receives the approval on the application after its successful review by RTA Engineer in coordination with the relevant internal departments.
  13. The customer settles the required fees and downloads the permit and approved drawings from the application page.
  14. To renew, the customer clicks on Renew in the dashboard then enters the duration and the description of the work and pays the new permit issuance fee.

The validity varies according to the condition and the type of the application.

Terms and conditions
  • The customer must obtain an ENOC for dewatering lines from all concerned parties.
  • The customer has to submit a refundable deposit in case the work did not require an NOC, because the fees are collected after the final approval of the permit.
  • If the customer does not pay within the stated period, the permit is automatically cancelled.
