Marine Transport Stations

Through RTA website

  1. The customer logs in to RTA website using his username and password or UAE Pass.
  2. The customer clicks on Marine Vessels Short Rental from the dashboard.
  3. The customer clicks on Create New Booking from Marine Vessels Short Rental dashboard.
  4. The customer selects the user type (Resident/Non-resident), then enters the required information.
  5. The customer chooses if he is a government employee then attaches the ID or passport and clicks on Next.
  6. The customer enters the renting details, then clicks on ADD.
  7. The customer reviews all information and the total amount due.
  8. The customer approves the terms and conditions then clicks on Submit for Review.
  9. The customer receives the response within 24 hours.
  10. The customer pays the fees online with the available options or at the marine station.
  11. The customer checks the booking details on RTA Website dashboard, downloads the ticket, and receives the booking number and details via email.
  12. The customer presents the booking number at the marine station to avail the service.

Through marine stations

  1. The customer heads to the station to book and confirm 24 hours before the time of the trip.
  2. The customer pays the required fees.
  3. The customer receives the service on the confirmed date and time.
  4. The customer arrives at the station 15 minutes before trip time and provides the vessel driver with the booking number.

Vessel’s facilities

  • Dubai Ferry has multiple advantages, such as accessibility for People of Determination, a closed air-conditioned seating area divided into silver class and gold class, a designated back deck to enjoy the open sea view and scenery and take pictures, a more luxurious and comfortable gold class area with wider seating, 2 LCD screens in silver class and 2 LCD screens in gold class, as well as sanitary facilities (separate toilets for males and females and People of Determination). Ferry Dubai accommodates 98 passengers (84 silver class and 14 gold) plus 2 wheelchairs.
  • Dubai Water Bus has multiple advantages, such as accessibility for People of Determination and a closed air-conditioned seating area. The Water Bus accommodates up to 19 passengers plus a wheelchair.
  • You can rent 2 distinctive vessels of Abra: Petrol Abra and Traditional Abra. The Petrol Abra accommodates 20 passengers including 1 wheelchair, the Traditional Abra accommodates 20 passengers.
  • Dubai Water Taxi has multiple characteristics, such as complete privacy, an air-conditioned cabin, and luxury leather seats. The cabin can accommodate 19 passengers plus a wheelchair.

General rules

  • The customer must book the trip 24 hours in advance to make sure the vessel is available.
  • The customer must be at the station 15 minutes before the trip time.
  • The route of the trip is subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions or for safety and security reasons.
  • The customer will be fined in case of misconduct as per the list of violations and fines available in marine transport stations.
  • Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to use marine transport unless accompanied by an adult and must present a valid Emirates ID of the child.
  • Children under 12 years accompanied by an adult must wear a life jacket while on board

  • RTA Marine vessels cannot be used for any promotional activities or any purpose other than the one for which the vessel is chartered.
  • The capacity of the vessel cannot be exceeded.
  • It is forbidden to carry out any acts or any actions that would cause the cancellation of insurance coverage.
  • The customer cannot instruct the captain of the vessel to drive or change the allocated routes agreed during the booking.
  • It is forbidden to install anything on the internal or external part of the vessel without prior approval of RTA concerned team.
  • In case of damage to the vessel due to misuse, the customers are liable for the total cost of repairing the damage.
  • In case both parties agree on changing the route of the vessel, the fees will be recalculated, and the customer must pay the cost difference.
  • The customer cannot refund the booking fees.
  • No more than 2 children can be accompanied by a single parent.
  • Question 1: Are there any additional facilities available based on Customer Segment or Passenger Type?

Answer1: There’s an area allocated for POD (wheelchairs) individuals to travel safely on all marine transport means, with the exception of Electrical Abra.

  • Question 2: What is the procedure if the customer loses his belongings in the marine means of transport?

Answer 2: For lost and found items, the customer must head to Al Ghubaiba office within 24 hours. After that period, if the customer does not go to the office, the found items go to the police department (Emirates IDs or the equivalent). In case of regular belongings, they will be kept at the office until the customer takes them.
