This service enables you to rent a dry berth for private boats at Al Gharhoud Marine Maintenance Center, which offers power and water connection, and a firefighting waterline. The maximum acceptable vessel length is 20 metres.

Eligibility
All marine maintenance specialised companies, businesses related to marine vessels and private boat owners are eligible to benefit from this service.

  2. Certificate of registry/licence
  3. Vessel GA drawing
  4. Vessel docking plan drawing.

  • Dry Berth: 30 AED / metre / day
  • Water Consumption: 0.1 AED / gallon
  • Power Supply (220V/32Amp): 50 AED / day
  • Firefighting Water Line: 125 AED / day

Process
  1. The customer fills and submits the form on RTA website, attaching the required documents.
  2. The customer receives an email notification from RTA within 2 working days with the status of the request and payment details if it was approved.
  3. The customer settles the required fees at any Self Service Machine and receives the payment details through email or SMS.
  4. The customer sends the payment details to the Marine Transport Department via email (external.boatlifting@rta.ae).
  5. The Marine Transport Department issues a work order to berth the vessel on the booked date and time.

Terms and conditions
  • The vessel should not be longer than 20 meters, heavier than 16 tons and less than 5 meters wide.
  • The service is limited to docking, undocking, or lifting only. For maintenance, the customer must mobilise the contract company for maintenance activities; Al Gharhoud Marine is not responsible for maintenance activities.
  • RTA reserves the right to shift vessels according to yard operations convenience.
  • The security guard or crew must be present on behalf of the boat owner to protect the property of each vessel.
  • Al Garhoud Marine Facility is not responsible for any damages such as boat sinking, fire, natural disasters, fatal accidents, etc., or any unsafe work located in Al Garhoud yard or in the wharfage.
  • Any damage that occurs to the ship is the responsibility of the owner and contractor, and not RTA Marine.
  • Any violation of RTA rules and regulations will be chargeable as per RTA guidelines and tariffs.
  • Service fees are calculated separately for docking and undocking.
  • The customer must pay the service fees in advance at any Customer Happiness Centre. The required documents can be sent via email to the relevant department or submitted directly at Al Garhoud Marine Facility.
  • The customer must hire a company specialising in marine maintenance to carry out the works.
  • RTA only provides the wooden support and doesn't supply awnings for boats. The customer can bring his own awning if he wishes.
  • The maintenance company must obtain approval to provide its services, ensuring it meets the standards required to operate at the Al Garhoud Marine Facility.
  • Certain maintenance work requires approval. If the service provider company causes damage to the site, a fine will be issued.
  • The customer can obtain more space around the boat for a fee.

Answer 1: No, RTA provides only wood holders, but customers can get shades for their boats.

Answer 2: A fine will be issued against the company if it caused any damage to the location.
