Hamdan bin Mohammed Inaugurates Dubai World Self-Driving Transport Exhibition
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the Dubai World Self-Driving Transport Exhibition, organised by Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Al Tayer: Smart Integrated Infrastructure Set as Theme for 5th Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that the 5th Edition of the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport 2027 will be dedicated to the theme: Smart Integrated Infrastructure. Companies will compete to design systems and infrastructure that harness digital technologies such as sensors, internet connectivity, and data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of urban and public services. The infrastructure will be characterised by the integration of its core components, sustainability to ensure efficiency & reduce environmental impact, and intelligence in the use and analysis of data to improve performance.

Building 6 New Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges Across Major Roads
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) completed two pedestrian bridges on Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Mina Street as part of Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project. RTA also constructed six pedestrian and cyclist bridges across key streets in Dubai. Five of these bridges are scheduled to open before the end of this year, with the sixth set for completion in the first quarter of 2027. In addition, RTA set out plans to construct 23 further bridges by the end of 2030.
