About Dubai Abra

Abra comes from the Arabic verb “abara” which means to cross. Take a ride on the Dubai Abra, the city’s most traditional mode of transport. For centuries, it has remained one of Dubai’s most frequented modes of transport, making it the symbol of the city ’s history and heritage. Today there are different types of Abras in service:

Motorized traditional abra

Discover the charm of old Dubai in this traditional half-boat, half-raft. This is the most popular mode of transport for cruising around the Dubai Creek, a spectacular 14 kilometre stretch which divides Deira and Bur Dubai. Hop on for a glimpse of the soulful side of the city.


  • Bur Dubai Abra Station to Deira Old Souk Abra Station and vice versa (6.00 am – 12.00 am)
  • Dubai Old Souk Station to Al Sabhkha Abra Station and vice versa (24 hour service)

Fare (Payment with cash)

  • AED 1 per passenger, per trip
  • The Abra can be booked as a private charter for cruising across the Creek for AED 120 per hour

Air-conditioned Abra

Combining the style of a traditional Abra and the latest technologies, this abra ride makes for a comfortable cruise in a fully air-conditioned environment. Sit back and travel along the Creek Metro Station via your favourite stores, restaurants and cafes in Dubai Festival City.

  • Everyday – 7:00 am to 12:00 Midnight
  • Friday 09:00 am – 12:00 Midnight

Dubai Marina


A stylish and comfortable cruise awaits you onboard the Dubai Marina Air-condtioned Abra. Hop on and hop off between 4 scenic stops in the Dubai Marina – Marina Terrace, Marina Walk, Dubai Marina Mall and Marina Promenade. It’s the perfect way to cover the scenic and charming Dubai Marina area.

Petrol abra

A modern take on the traditional Abra. The latest technology makes it very safe and accessible for all the passengers, while delivering the traditional Abra experience. The petrol Abra also provides abundant seating capacity of up to 20 passengers.


Petrol Heritage Abra - Creek


The best of both worlds come together in this modern yet traditional Abra. Equipped with the latest technology, enjoy a safe cruise without losing out on the traditional experience.



  • Al Seef – Baniyas – Dubai Old Souq – Al Ghubaiba and vice versa. Begin your journey with a walk along the refurbished Al Seef area.
  • Cruise along the historic centre of Baniyas – a square that still stands testimony to the early glory of the Gulf's premiere trading city, to Old Souq – a traditional souq with a large number of stores. Finally end your journey in Al Ghubaiba, a bustling area in old Dubai. (CR3)

Petrol Heritage Abra - Dubai Water Canal

Experience a combination of contrasts as you pass Dubai's modern skyline and the waterfall in a stylish Petrol Heritage Abra. And relax as you get to your destination, refreshed and ready to either walk or cycle through the newest area in Dubai. The trip takes 45 minutes.

Electrical traditional abra

The environment-friendly Abra with a seating capacity of 8 passengers has become a tourists’ favorite for cruising along the city’s popular attractions.
