Individuals and companies are eligible to apply for this service.
Required documents

For individuals

  1. Vehicle's documents: Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) or reference number of the electronic Transfer Certificate or electronic Possession Certificate or electronic Change of Possession Certificate or electronic Export Certificate
  2. Original Emirates ID
  3. Vehicle transfer technical inspection in case of an expired licence or a non-licensed vehicle
  4. Plates of the vehicle to hand over
  5. Electronic report from the police if 1 or both plates were lost
  6. Gulf Conformity Certificate for vehicles that are considered non-compliant without specifying the year of manufacturing
  7. Electronic redemption of the mortgage (by the mortgagee) in case of a mortgaged vehicle

For companies

  1. Vehicle's documents: Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) or the electronic Transfer Certificate or electronic Possession Certificate or electronic Change of Possession Certificate or electronic Export Certificate
  2. Official letter in Arabic from the company
  3. Copy of the trade licence
  4. Memorandum of Association for companies
  5. Vehicle transfer inspection in case of an expired licence or a non-licensed vehicle
  6. Plates of the vehicle to hand over
  7. Report from the police if 1 or both plates were lost
  8. Electronic redemption of the mortgage (by the mortgagee) in case of a mortgaged vehicle.

  • 350 AED Light vehicle ownership transfer fee, if the ownership transfer was stated in the transfer certificate
  • 120 AED transfer fees if the vehicle was registered under the same name
  • 520 AED transfer fees if the vehicle was registered in Dubai and transferred to another emirate under a different person’s name
  • 170 AED transfer fees if the vehicle was not registered and transferred to another emirate under a different person’s name
  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fee.

Through Website

  1. The customer logs in using UAE Pass or logs in to his account on RTA website.
  2. The customer selects Licensing Services.
  3. The customer selects the service.
  4. The customer enters the required information.
  5. The customer ID is confirmed through the UAE Pass.
  6. The customer settles the required fees by credit card.
  7. The customer submits the plates at the centre and receives the receipts and the certificate electronically.

Note: The service can be done through the website only if the vehicle is registered.

Through Customer Happiness Centres or Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centres

  1. The customer presents the required documents at the centre.
  2. The customer settles the service fees.
  3. The customer hands over the plates and receives the electronic certificate through SMS and e-mail.

Through other emirates Service Centres

  1. The customer presents the required documents at the centre.
  2. The customer settles the service fees.

Terms and conditions
  • The customer or the legal representative must be present in person.
  • The customer must have a selling agreement from an authorised dealer in Dubai if the seller was unable to be present.
  • The customer must settle all the traffic fines before receiving this service.
  • If the buyer doesn't have a traffic file, he must open a new one (for companies and individuals).
