Statement by the H.E Mattar Al Tayer on Zayed Humanitarian Day
(Al Tayer: "Zayed Humanitarian Day" Embodies UAE’s Enduring Legacy of Generosity and Benevolence)

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stated in celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed annually on the 19th of Ramadan: “Celebrating Zayed Humanitarian Day is a testament to the legacy of generosity and compassion established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This humanitarian drive has become a deeply embedded principle embraced by the UAE’s leadership and people, extending the nation’s goodwill to countless individuals in need across the world, without discrimination, as the UAE stands as a global leader in humanitarian aid and support.”
“This year’s Zayed Humanitarian Day coincides with the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, declaring 2025 as the ‘Year of the Community’ under the theme ‘Hand in Hand.’ This initiative seeks to strengthen family and social bonds, promote cooperation, generosity, and a spirit of volunteerism, and cultivate a culture of shared responsibility,” added Al Tayer.
He further noted that the initiative reflects the values of brotherhood, compassion, and supporting those in need, instilled by the Founding Father. These principles continue to be upheld and reinforced by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members, Rulers of the Emirates. Benevolence has become synonymous with the UAE, reflecting its civilised identity.
“The UAE’s leadership, supported by its people, remains committed to the path of generosity established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This enduring commitment is reflected in the launch of far-reaching humanitarian and charitable initiatives that extend across the globe,” he said.
H.E. Ellaborated that among these initiatives is the ‘Zayed Humanitarian Legacy’ initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with a dedicated AED 20 billion fund to support humanitarian efforts in the world’s most vulnerable communities.
Al Tayer concluded: “Additionally, the ‘Chivalrous Knight 3’ humanitarian operation had been deployed to aid the Palestinian people in Gaza, while His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the ‘Father’s Endowment’ campaign, following the ‘Mothers’ Endowment’ campaign. These and other initiatives have further strengthened the UAE’s position as a global leader in humanitarian, relief, and development efforts.”
