Seamless Journeys - Future of Multimodal Transport

The session titled Seamless Journeys – The Future of Multimodal Transport explored how autonomous journeys across land, sea and air can be seamless, safe, and reliable. It also highlighted the efforts of global companies, studies, and research initiatives dedicated to achieving this vision. The session was moderated by Alexander Nase, Managing Director of FEV Consulting, a firm specialised in technology-driven consultancy.
Alexander Nase, spoke about the importance of inspection processes and commercial coordination, alongside harnessing innovation and creative ideas to meet the growing demand for autonomous trucks and vehicles. He stressed the need to develop platforms tailored to each request and adapted to the specific conditions of different cities.
Mr. Ken Xie, Global Market Director, Orcauboat & Orca-APAS, addressed the global trend towards adopting autonomous marine transport. He outlined the safeguards required and explained how such solutions can ensure the safety of both passengers and cargo.
Anthony Khoury, UAE General Manager, Joby Aviation, spoke about the future of autonomous aircraft designed to transport passengers to their destinations. He noted that such aircraft could, in the future, be used for urban mobility, including travel from homes to various destinations across the city. He emphasised their safety and reliability, pointing out that they are built on robust foundations, capable of flying considerable distances, maintained continuously, and developed with the involvement of numerous companies and experts in both manufacturing and maintenance.
Ms. Scarlett Liu, Director of Europe Operations, Pix Moving, presented the company’s efforts, stating that Pix Moving is built on patented innovations and has developed vehicles of various sizes while actively exploring the future of mobility. She highlighted the company’s significant success in deploying autonomous vehicles across different parts of the world.
