Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has completed the training of 530 parking inspectors from the Traffic and Roads Agency. The training was conducted under the Tazeez (enhancement) programme; a specialist training programme tailored to parking inspectors in collaboration with the General Department of Training at Dubai Police, and the Parking Department at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency.

“Tazeez programme has been introduced as part of endeavours of RTA to qualify employees of different categories to contribute to achieving RTA’s strategic objectives,” said Sultan Al Akraf, Director of Human Resources and Development, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, RTA.

“This integrated training programme undertaken by RTA in collaboration with Dubai Police aims to enhance and enrich the scientific, professional and field knowledge and skills of inspectors. It involves enhancing their skills and competencies to deliver the jobs entrusted to them perfectly in a way compatible with the level of services provided to all community members,” explained Al Akraf.

The programme is based on three training pillars. The first pillar is Health and Safety (My Safety First). It relates to boosting the general knowledge and culture of security and occupational safety procedures. It also includes the principles of public health, traffic safety procedures for the inspector, and first aid skills.

The second pillar is RTA Ambassador (communication and customer service skills). It is an intensive interactive workshop through which the trainee is familiarised with the top skills and practices of serving customers along with anticipated and common field scenarios to which inspectors are liable.

The third pillar is Special Skills in Support of People of Determination. Under this training, inspectors are acquainted with the principles and basics of the sign language for proper communication and field and trained on giving hand to this community segment.
