RTA certified as Innovative Organisation
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has made an excellent international achievement by obtaining the Organization Maturity Certification (OMC) from the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI), Boston, USA. The certification acknowledges the huge steps taken by RTA towards maturity of innovative processes in its scope as a government body responsible for transport and related services.
Nasir Abu Shehab, CEO of RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance was proud of this certificate as it reflects RTA’s efforts in developing innovative solutions for improving services. “The step acknowledges the efforts made to nurture an environment conducive to innovation such as labs and workshops for leaders and employees to develop the best and viable ideas capable of driving and innovating RTA’s processes,” he noted.
“RTA has delivered a portfolio of innovative projects built on sound pillars of information, technology and knowledge with the aim of realizing the objectives of leaders to rank the UAE amongst the top 20 in the Global Innovation Index. RTA’s current and future plans are aligned with the National Innovation Strategy. We do not look at innovation as an option or luxury, rather a lifestyle characterising our projects and services,”he added.
“RTA is keen on analyzing the future global trends of innovation in various fields, which will enable us to develop creative solutions to transport challenges in Dubai. We will make every effort to make these solutions a common practice in all our projects,” confirmed Abu Shehab.
Dr Hitendra Patel, CEO of Global Innovation Management Institute congratulated RTA on becoming the first entity in the region to achieve this certificate. “The awarding of this certificate underlines RTA’s compliance with all standards in place and certifies the adoption of innovation as a model in all operations and services,” he added.
