Offering 300 plates of 3, 4 and 5-digit plates in 54th online auction
Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is offering about 300 licensing plates comprising 3, 4 and 5-digit plates in its forthcoming 54th online auction. Plates on offer bear A, B, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, and T Codes. Registration of bidders will start Sunday, September 30, 2018. The bidding will commence at 08:00 am on Sunday, October 7, 2018 and continue for 5 days.
“The selling of licensing plates in this auction will be subject to a 5% VAT. The wide public participation and positive competition for grabbing number plates, which is typical of open or online auctions, underscore the importance of holding these auctions. It reflects the role of such auctions is raising the satisfaction and happiness of clients amongst number plate enthusiasts,” said Jamal Hashim Assada, Director of RTA’s Vehicles licensing, Licensing Agency.
“To participate in the auction, the client has to have an account with the RTA through the website (www.rta.ae) or use the link of the New User to obtain a Username and Password. Registration of the new user requires the applicant to have a vehicle registered in Dubai or a driver license issued from Dubai.
“The potential bidder is also required to pay a security cheque amounting to AED5,000 along with an un-refundable AED120 as subscription fee. Payment can be made at Customers Happiness Centers at Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha or Deira. It can also be done online using a credit card via (www.rta.ae) or the Dubai Drive app. The successful bidder has to clear the dues within 10 working days from the date of closing the auction. Defaulters will be blacklisted,” he elaborated.
“Online auctions are particularly appealing to a large segment of the community as they avail fans the liberty of selecting their fancied plates in a hassle-free environment. Moreover, this sort of auctions contributes to enhancing the online services of RTA under an annual plan for improving the quality and standard of processing public transactions.
