The MENA Centre for Transport Excellence (CTE), an affiliate of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), announced that it had completed training for over 160 employees from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in 2023. The training sessions were conducted as part of a package of improvement programmes and workshops delivered by road and transport experts as part of the strategic partnership between the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and the RTA. The overall objective is to enhance the competencies of RTA employees and equip them with new skills and tools to keep pace with regional and global developments across the public transport industry.

“In 2023, about 160 employees from RTA had been trained under 13 specialised programmes to remain in touch with trending developments of public transport. The training focused on automated mobility, cybersecurity, electric bus operation & maintenance, electric mobility, urban rail planning & construction, and crisis & emergency management,” said Yousef Al Ali, Head  of the Coordinating Committee of the MENA Centre for Transport Excellence (CTE), RTA.

"The Training Plan 2023 delivered training courses and workshops, which had been devoted in total (100%) to live and practical sessions. The satisfaction rating of these programmes had reached 90% in 2023, reflecting the efficiency of plans developed by CTE to enhance public transport solutions and services for RTA and other global firms and organisations,” added Al Ali.
