Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) observed the Commemoration Day on November 30, 2023, in a ceremony attended by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, along with CEOs and directors of the RTA. Events commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the UAE flag at the Head Office. A minute of silence was observed to honour the souls of the nation's martyrs. In a tribute to their heroism, RTA also displayed the logo of the Commemoration Day on the smart traffic screens in reverence and remembrance of those heroes.

“Commemoration Day is a poignant reminder of allegiance, belonging, and sacrifice. It's a day to honour the homeland's protectors — the brave individuals who selflessly gave their lives for the welfare of the nation,” said Al Tayer.

“Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, along with their brothers, the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE remains deeply committed to honouring the legacy of its valiant martyrs. Their heroic acts are eternally etched in our memories and continue to be a source of immense pride for generations to come.

“Guided by wise leaders, the UAE has set an example for sustained generosity, support for those in need, upholding justice, and even sacrificing lives for the cause of righteousness,” concluded Al Tayer.
