The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is all set for hosting the UITP MENA Transport Congress & Exhibition 2018 scheduled on 23-25 April 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Center. The event features the participation of 70 international speakers including the prominent Canadian thinker, Brent Toderian, the Keynote speaker in the opening session of the Congress.

“This event, which is the biggest gathering in the public transport industry, brings together industry leaders, policymakers, legislators, developers, consultants, operators and manufactures under one roof to discuss future solutions of public transport means. The Organising Committee would hold regular meetings in the RTA and quarterly meetings with the delegation of the UITP to prepare for this event,” said HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA.

“RTA is keen to host international speakers to share their experiences and experiments in the public transport world. The event would host Mr. Brent Toderian, from Canada, who is an international thinker and expert in urban planning and sustainable transport. He is an advocate of Out-of-the-Box approach towards achieving a vibrant urban environment. He worked in several cities like Auckland, Brisbane, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Helsinki, New York, Oslo, Rotterdam, Sydney, Vancouver and others. He is the founder of the Canadian Urban Council and regularly contributes articles and interviews to Huffington Post, City Labs, and Simpsing as well as several international forums,” added Al Tayer.

“The event is privileged by huge attention from ministers, chairpersons, CEOs, consultants, experts and other transportation decision makers. Such attention is attributed to the mega growth witnessed by cities of the region, the rising population growth and the dire need for an integrated structure for mass transit modes to facilitate people’s movement in cities. The event offers a good opportunity to review the successful experiences of developed countries and the latest technologies in this regard,” he added.

Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Chairman of the Conference Supreme Organizing Committee, said: "The theme of the conference “Pioneers for Customer Happiness” reflects RTA’s endeavours to delight customers from various community segments as well as Dubai visitors hailing from various countries, engage them in Dubai’s various activities and events.”
“The participation of several world's leading experts in mass transport and infrastructure and the advanced technologies used in operating public transport will enrich this experience and contribute to attracting many participants from the countries in the region and the world. Mass transit systems are crucial to the progress and growth on all fronts,” he added.

“Following the towering success of the previous editions, RTA decided to host additional distinguished speakers from the region and the world to present their experiences and success stories in mass transit, school transportation, cycling, customer’s happiness, smart services, etc.”
It is worth mentioning that the Organizing Committee of the Congress and Exhibition meets regularly at the RTA and quarterly with a delegation from the UITP in Brussels to plan and prepare the event.
